This I drew for a class project, using the pen tool and gradient tool. I had to use at least one stamp for this project which is the leaf. I also used the “revolving” tool to create the table. I think the beginning object I drew looked like a triangle and i revolved and warped it into the black table. I added some lighting to it in the revolve advanced options to create the light reflections on the table. Also used the revolve tool to create the vine. I created the vine first by drawing a straight line, revolved it, then warped it into the final vine.

In this image I removed the holes in the face of the mountain from where previous climbers dug holes into it. I also added some “sunlight” to the image to brighten it up. It was very dull, so I made it so that it looks like the climber is climbing into the sun. I also removed some graffiti from the rock face also.

This one i took like I think 5 or so different pictures, cropped them and created this one image.
My brand new…first ever…online portfolio.

Bought a new domain yesterday for a little over 10 bucks from Yahoo! Small Business, ShalaDenise.com. I am still re-designing my company site and I will not launch it until I finish getting all my copyrights and trademarking out the way.
`
I need a way for people to be able to view my works until I re-luanch the company site so I am making an Online Portfolio. Best part is I am using Tumblr.com to host my site, so that way I have no monthly fees to host my new site. Tumblr does it for free. Same goes for my personal site itsshala.com (this one that you’re on as a matter of fact).
`
Basically I just started a new site for like $10 and some change…. And for those out there who want a site, but are not exactly tech savvy when it comes to designing sites, Tumblr has templates that you can use. Like MySpace you just fill out a couple boxes, select a few chck boxes for some things, and TADA! You have a full functioning website in under a hour. My new portfolio site, shaladenise.com uses a template available for purchase on Tumblr.
`
I don’t want to spend a lot of time designing my portfolio or personal site, I just need a good way to post articles and my work… Now the company site, I’m completely designing that from scratch.
`
Tumblr is great because you can use a template are design it using HTML, or a combination of both. For my online portfolio I am using HTLM to manipulate the template I purchased so I can control exactly how I want it to function and look. This is what I have so far, I laid the ground work, now I have to start adding the content….

In the past 4 weeks, different people have told me that I should be in #advertising or #marketing…Hmmm…looks like I have some thinking to do come October. Cuz somebody decided to go to school for IT - - Wow! I graduate in December….what is life after school??? LOL I am so excited to be done with school, but then what do I do??? I guess the same thing I do everyday…”Try to take over the world…” of #design that is ^_^— Shala
When designing #logos on the fly, just on my own time for no reason…I like to find actual #companies that exist and #design a logo for it. I feel I get more of a challenge tht way, rather than creating a logo for a name I make up. Because at that point I just “choose” a name to fit whatever #logo I create, and in the real world I don’t get to choose the company’s name. The company chooses me and they already have a name and a #theme in mind. That’s where the real challenge comes in. Designing something for someone else who has their on vision, but just needs help carrying it out. So I think of it as training for the real world.—
Someone called me up and told me that a #MacBookPro was on sale at a retail store for $300. I replied, “No way! Can’t be. The cheapest #Mac period is around $898. It maybe for $300 a month if you get it on credit,” I laugh. “Bwa-hahaha! If they’re selling Mac Book Pros for $300, I real straight up walk out of work right now. And go get one or a few. I’ll have everybody #Mac-ed up.” So yea, I checked it out and it was selling for $870 something… “. Yea you can get a #PC for $300 but not a Mac…—Shala
