Played around with TAP (Touch Application Prototypes) Fireworks plugin tonight. Lets you create iPod / iPad mock-ups you can actually tap through on an iPod or iPad device. All using Fireworks.
I created some standard iPad screen designs in Photoshop, then flipped them into Fireworks. Added the appropriate hotspots, linking all the screens together. Loaded up the project file to a server. Now I can tap through my screen designs on the iPad as I would an adhoc build. Quickly seeing any weird workflows as I design the app prior to development.
Hypothesis:
Create quick working iPad mockup in roughly an hour since my screens are complete (holds true)
Lessons Learned:
1_ Test out 1 -4 hotspots on a single screen design to get a feel how the different plugin transitions work. Then apply transitions to all your hotspots accordingly.
2_ Having a mom that doesn’t mind you blasting music at un-godly hours of the night is SWEET
